Video Games: Influence or no?

After reading the assigned material; I came to a conclusion about video games. I feel that video games can be seen as entertainment as well as being an influence on someone's life. It really depends on how your mind works. Meaning weak-minded people are easily influenced than others. Also how you were raised plays a role in it. If you were brought up to know that violence is not the answer then obviously this will have some impact on the influence a video can have on you. I also feel like different video games portray different things. Grand theft auto teaches bad things daily. I read an article that stated yes, it shows entertainment, but it reenacts everything gangs do all over the world. This is basically showing people nation-wide that it is fine to be in a gang and do these bad things. Although this games have ratings and are rated M for mature doesn't mean that everyone matures at the same age. Every person doesn't mature at the age 16, 18, or 21. Sometimes it takes more time to mature. People vary everyday. It is so easy for young kids to get a hold of these games not meant for them by being around older people things and being nosy or invading others property. Not only do these video games teach violence they teach many other crimes such as: armed robbery, graffiti and possession. All of these things are things that happen everyday for some people. These games condone bad acts from everyone.

Introduction

I'm Jadda Jefferies, but Jadda will work just fine. I'm a transfer sophomore sports management major from Burlington, NC. After beginning my college career at Barton College, I realized, college had to have something better to offer. I packed up all my things and transferred to the University of the District of Columbia. Once again, I found myself unhappy, yearning for something better. Basketball is my first love, and has been my passion since I was three years old. After playing for two previous teams, I hope to find a home here with the Lady Vikings. I am twenty years old, the oldest of three. I plan to set examples for my little brother and sister by being successful. I enjoy playing basketball, shopping, designing, networking and spending time with friends and family. Success is my ultimate life goal, with my degree, I plan on becoming a sports agent, representing the most lucrative sports teams and talented athletes of all time. My goals for education are to stay focused, stay organized, practice time management, get involved and the gain the full college experience. Being a student-athlete I plan to use my time wisely, assuring classroom success as well as on the court.
